Making Payments (56k DIE DIE)
So, today Hawke and I headed up to a small private range north of Denver. Its a nice berm, and long (250yds or so) but fairly narrow (25yrds tops).
So we used the range layout that I had made up and laid out the range completely to 25yds. I used 4' long pieces of capped rebar, and Hawke and I are are going to label the caps next time with the range.

After we shot some video about some products we worked on some real basic stuff. We started with zero'ing a rifle I'd had problems with a couple of weeks ago (popped primer in the gas key) then worked on 'riding' the trigger reset a good bit. Hawke got to work a good bit with the Primary Weapons DNTC muzzle brake and really liked it. You can see that even as the weapon is cycling, the muzzle rise is negligible.

After that, we shot some more video running a Mako Group RTS thru its paces. Interesting piece, I'm not 100% sold on it for rifle work, but its a neat concept.

After that, I spend some time fooling with the Brownell's diopter HK style rear BUIS. The sight itself is fine, but I still don't care for drum sights.

Hawke then spent some time on 'hostage' head shots.

And finally, reloads. Hawke has gotten pretty good and even beat me in the final race. (remember kids, don't leave your bolt locked back -duh)

Overall, we got a lot done, got a nice range laid out, got in SLOW high quality practice. It was a good day.

Looks like a nice facility. Sadly private lands are the few places that are usually really nice to shoot.
