Coming from a Military family converting was not an issue. I have turned a few friends and the wife shoots. I have to say that Many in the modern Military outside of the combat arms do not understand. I am working on it in my little world.

Ive converted quite a few, but the parent / Mom thing just floored me! I'm trying to get my brother and sister-in law to let me take my 6 yo niece out for a day shooting. But now, Grandma hears of that, and I'm out of the will.

My family is mixed but mostly understanding and supportive of my love of guns while not active themselves. I have very few friends, 2 really, and I've converted them both. My wife is on board with me protecting the family but I need to work on her realizing that the day will come that I need someone to watch my back as well.

Sure: "I don't have a single friend that is anti-gun."

Works perfectly. And that's just another reason to like dogs more than people. I haven't met a single dog that was anti-gun or that has voted for a democrat.

I would have no problem banding together with and protecting hardcore lefties in a SHTF situation. They would make excellent choices to carry my family's belongings, dig our shelters, and barter away to other people for provisions.

Our dogs are more pro-gun than anyone I have ever met. When we take a gun out our older dog starts whining, shaking and wiggling her whole body. It's just about the happiest any being can possibly get without exploding and it makes my day every time I get to see it.

Fortunately, all my friends and family are all pro gun.....Whoops I forgot, I have a neice who went through POST training and became a police officer for about a year. She quit her job, went through nursing training, and is now an RN. I'm proud of her, but now she is anti gun, turned total LIB ,Obama supporter. Go figger. Still love her but what the F... happened?

It's funny, you never know......I have a young nephew that's your typical long-haired bearded hippie type, follows some band around the country like a Deadhead. He has a little camper trailer that he drags to the shows to camp in.

Went to his Facebook page to wish him happy birthday, and there's a photo of him standing in the doorway of his camper holding a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag! Last kid on Earth I'd ever expect to be a gunowner.

My stepson and his wife from Connecticut recently came to visit. She's a CT native, never fired a gun in her life, but she was very eager to go to the range and try every gun I could get in her hands, and loved it!
