And that strikes me as a perfect encapsulation of the problem.

Many of the liberals see us the same way.

Do you think we can improve the state of our country by squaring up on opposite sides and calling each other "my enemy"?

(in reguards to firearms) I guarantee you that is the way you are thought of by your liberal friends..... You are an enemy of right thinking and progressive minded people, and a danger to society for owning a firearm. While the 2nd amendment was nice in its time and was for hunters, no one needs to hunt for their food anymore. And owning an AR-15/Asssault Rifle should be and will be crime. We are just thinking of the children and leading you to a proper outlook for a modern America.

Here's the difference. As a constitutionally minded conservative, my goals in life are not to infringe on their rights or their beliefs or to tell them what's best for them in their lives. Liberals/progressives don't share that philosophy. They have no idea what the Bill of Rights, specifically the Second Amendment, means. And it's not for lack of information. The meaning of the Constitution is out there for anyone seeking the truth. Liberals/progressives are also responsible for the social and moral decay of our society over the last 50 years.

I'm not apologetic in my beliefs. I won't appease liberals/progressives. I won't apologize for calling them my enemy. If you feel that's wrong, so be it. I'll explain my position to you but I won't ever tell you you're not entitled to your opinion because it's wrong...even if I believe it to be wrong. That's the difference between me and a liberal/progressive.

Yes, I do believe we can improve the country by defeating our enemies. You're certainly entitled to feel otherwise.
