    Default when is a pro not a pro?

    got my m&p pro yesterday, the label on the box say's m&p pro, the part# is for the pro, has the f.o. sights of the pro, but the slide say's "m&p9L" not pro series is this correct? I say no, it dont look like any pic of the pro Ive seen, I call s&w this morning they say sorry we installed the wrong slide we will send you a call tag and change it out for you. WTF? is this some quality control or what? i'm so pissed over this I could chew tacks.

    Not like the slide affects the function...it wouldnt bother me, and Im an asshole about details...but if you want it done right, at least they admitted the mistake and offered to fix it at no cost to you...

    I dont doubt they will fix it, my problem is this is their so called pro series with hand assembly, hand trigger job etc. and it slipped through with the most noticeible part wrong? what else is wrong? they have only been out a week and there is also a guy on the m&p boards that got one with a barrel that is 1/2 of a inch to short. his pic. below

    interesting.

    is this an error in your favor or theirs?

    i.e.: did you get more value or cheated?

    The lower front edge of the L slide is beveled;

    Where the Pro is squared.

    S&W builds a lot of variants, so the different upper may seem like an obvious mistake to you, but there may be more involved than you realize. A 1911PD is still sold as a 1911SC in Massachusetts, even after the 1911SC designation was moved to a version that had a stainless upper and silver scandium lower. The requirement that models be approved for sale by the Attorney General led to this since the 1911SC had been approved and then was immediately replaced by the 1911PD. Rather than having no product to sell in their home state, it was easier to relabel the parts.

    You should get what you want. And or what you paid for.

    I kinda like the L profile myself. But I could be happy with either one.

    When you ship your pistol back, put a letter in the box with the gun that you're also concerned about the frame. Document all of what you think is wrong about the pistol that you received vs. the one you thought you were getting. They will likely ship you an entirely different pistol, so help guide them on what you'd like to get back.

    S&W will make it right. They're pretty good about fixing their mistakes.
