Default Last Stand Against Gun Bills - The Senate

[yes, another post, but here's everything you need to know]

All 4 gun bills passed the House today. Next is the Senate, and our last stand b/c Hickenlooper already announced his support for all the gun bills except HB13-1226 (or has he?).

Dems hold a 20-15 majority in the Senate, so 3 Dems have to defect to kill any bill on the floor. But the best way to kill a bill is in committee. Here are the bills and their most likely paths through committee before any bill can reach the Senate floor:

    HB13-1229
: requiring background checks for all gun transactions; Judiciary & Appropriations

HB13-1226: banning concealed weapons on campuses; Education & Appropriations

HB13-1228: instituting a fee for gun buyers to cover the cost of the CBI to perform background checks; Finance & Appropriations

HB13-1224: limiting magazines to 15 rounds; Judiciary

    Judciary Committee:
Jessie Ulibarri (D-21), Irene Aguilar (D-32), Lucia Guzman (D-34), Steve King (R-7), Kevin Lundberg (R-15)

    Education Committee:
Rollie Heath (D-18), Evie Hudak (D-19), Andy Kerr (D-22), Nancy Todd (D-28), Michael Johnston (D-33), Mark Scheffel (R-4), Owen Hill (R-10), Scott Renfroe (R-13), Vicki Marble (R-23)

    Finance Committee:
Cheri Jahn (D-20), Andy Kerr (D-22), Michael Johnston (D-33), Kevin Grantham (R-2), Owen Hill (R-10)

    Appropriations Committee:
Rollie Heath (D-18), Jessie Ulibarri (D-21), Mary Hodge (D-25), Pat Steadman (D-31), Kent Lambert (R-9), Scott Renfroe (R-13), Ted Harvey (R-30)

(red = Dems w/ doubts regarding some bills (Post #56) (Thread) (NRA-ILA) - target them more!)
(gray = Dems in safe districts or obvious no vote)
(date = next election; vote count = last election results)

How do all of you that voted 3rd party feel now that we have Morse? Pretty stupid. I would like to start a PAC. Committee to Crush Vulnerable Anti-gun Democrats. Next election, if you live in a safe district we should donate to take out these close races instead of our own.

    Awesome!

    Here are my next steps.

    1. Thank the house Dems that voted against the bills, and ask them for their continued help to influence their senate counterparts.
    2. Thank the house republicans for their vote and to ask them to continue to help influence their senate counterparts.
    3. Reminder emails to senate republicans.
    4. Targeted email and faxes to the key senate dems above as well as dems from rural districts.
    5. blanket emails to remaining senate dems asking for a no vote.

The ones I spoe with are indignant and they are not even actively calling or writing senators and representatives. Not a single person at the capitol that I asked who they voted for said anything other than R down the line. We have too many who do not understand because we have largely been too complacent.

The phone numbers posted are the office numbers. I'm not sure if they can take a fax?
