My wife made these fancy cloth valences to hang over all the doors in the house. I have taken truck racks aand hidden them behind the valence. An 870 and two 20 ga coach guns hang at strategic locations. After 3 years only one has been noticed. Pistols on night stands.

Early warning, 50 lb Heeler with 200 lb attitude. He will not allow anyone to hassle my wife inside the house. If we get into arguement dog has to go outside or get shut in bedroom. If I raise my voice to the wife he will growl at me. Sometimes he forgets, I sign the checks and he works for me.

    Sounds like a great dog!

Between my dog, a basic security system hooked up to a LOUD siren, and the gun I always have on me, I feel pretty safe around the house, especially at night.

Better than we could ever have hoped for. Hope he lives forever, going to be rough for us when he is gone.

I'm thinking about making some sort of hanger (out of bookshelf hangers?) to mount to the bed frame to keep the shotgun off the floor but under the skirt and slightly hidden?
Shotguns are usually left standing up in the closet or behind the bedroom door. You could even mount it in the wall. If you want to keep it under the bed, a folded over Army blanket will keep the dust off it and provide instant access.

Guns? I keep my lightsaber on my nightstand. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster, an elegant weapon, from a more civilized age.

Can't keep guns outside the safe, one mention of a loaded gun outside the safe to her kids' dad and child services would be all over our house. Kind of odd how anti gun he is considering he was a Navy MP.

Tactical cats are deployed at random times. Even we don't know when the division between 'nap' and 'frenzy' will occur.

I have a couple compound bows in a wall rack in the bedroom. The neighbors complain when I make too much noise. My early alarm system is a basset hound that sleeps across the floor where ever you want to go. After you trip over her she glares at you and then moves to the next spot to set up for the next person.
