why on earth is the media giving out the basics of bomb making ? i find it at best a bit odd at worst is scares the crap out of me . honestly most people should just not be informed on cretin things .

Actually, the basics are all over the interweb and even in the Encyclopedia Brittanica, as well as the composition of improvised low explosive propellants . . . that has been out there for decades. HOWEVER, an IED requires a detonator, or at least an ignitor, to function . . . that is the one essential part that they do not show in detail. Very simple to fabricate one once you know how, but the average person won't be able to figure it out on their own.

It's not hard to make a bomb, a bunch of goat herders who can't figure out how to aim a rifle have become quite proficient at building them.
