    Default Opinions of Armscor

Had lunch with neighbor today and he was asking about Rock Island and Citidal. I know very little about their products so will forward the responses from the forum.

There are those who will say that they are crap, but my experience, and that of many others, is that they are well functioning and fairly well built. Is it going to have the craftsmanship of a Les Baer or STI; of course not. But a simple look shows many people who have never had a single issue with theirs, and in the few instances that I've read of something that did go wrong, it was quickly resolved.

The Cimarron line of 1911s are also by Armscor, and the finish on their high luster blued model is very nice.

I had a Citadel 1911 and had no issues with it, except Wolf 45. After some work n the feed ramp, it fed that as well. The STI Spartan line is built off Armscor guns.

I owned a Citadel 1911 Compact for a few months, ran a good hundred rounds through it with no hiccups- both FMJ and JHP. Had nice features but the finish and weight left a bit to be desired. Carrying it was a bit of a burden due to the weight, I could only imagine how bad a 5" would be for carry.

Sold it last month for more than I paid when I bought it brand new. I think I'll get a Kimber Pro Carry or S&W Pro Series sometime if a good deal pops up.

I have the compact GI version from RIA. Accurate, reliable, but a bit heavy. Other than the weight, it makes for an inexpensive and dependable carry.
