Default Turned in my paperwork to renew my CHP today

Yesterday I dropped by the credit union to get a cashier's check for the CBI's portion of fees and I had barely mentioned that I wanted a cashier's check for $13 when the teller asked, "C.B.I.?" I guess she's had a lot of similar requests ...

I had made my appointment in accordance with the instructions on the letter last month, dropped over today in time for my appointment (after dumping an hour's worth of change in the meter) and told the clerk I was there for my appointment. She looked it up, saw it was a renewal and had her trainee go make a copy of my driver's license while she finished her phone call. After she hung up, she requested the paperwork, collected the cashier's check for CBI and cash for EPSO and returned my DL, saying "thanks, you don't need to wait for your appointment. These are still taking about 90 days to process so if there's any gap between your current permit and the new one, you can't carry concealed during the gap. Have a nice day."

I love El Paso County and the Sheriff's Office here.

It's weird how each county has a different process. I renewed in Arapahoe last week and it took 10 minutes, no appointment and I walked out with my new permit.

Ditto, Arapahoe for me as well... walked in with paperwork and old permit, walked out 10 minutes later with a new permit. They said "no news is good news".
