Who likes the KRISS Vector 45

I have been wanting one for a while now and got some decent prices from KRISS. How many of you like em? Good or bad reports welcome!

Only thing lame is; they won't sell me one in full auto without an LEO letter. Doesn't make sense that I can manufacture Full auto's, etc. but can't buy one except on a demo letter....


O and if you want in, PM me (only way I will talk about it). Kris said they were 4-6weeks on a carbine, 4weeks on a pistol (convert to sbr w/ stock. Which i can do for you) and 12 on an SBR.

A friend of mine got a carbine and a pistol version when they first came out. This was in California so no hope for an SBR but that's a whole other thing. He encountered reliability issues which became well known on earlier versions but I understand Kriss did a great job making things right and have since fixed the problems. There are still a lot of google results that don't mention that last part.

The bad: I thought it was cool but a little over complicated and a little big for being a "compact" weapon. It also has a bull-pup style trigger so it's only going to be so good by design. I also wish they made versions in cheaper calibers. Oh well. The carbine version seemed kinda pointless with other, cheaper, more trusted designs out there.

The good: That over-complicated part in the bad section results in a really smooth and stable shooting experience. Using Glock mags was a great choice especially since you can get a nice, long extension for them. It did shoot pretty well in pistol form and I'll bet an SBR version would be awesome.

All things considered I think it's a cool, fun gun but wouldn't put in the money it would take to get the good SBR version it deserves to be.

I got to shoot a full-auto one last year and loved it. That is definitely the way to have a KRISS. IMHO, the carbine version is too long and the pistol version is too big. This thing was meant to be fired in full-auto and with the lack of recoil was easy to control and keep on target. But, alas, all I have are the pictures to remember it by.

Thanks for the report! I too really wanted one. I'm not a big fan of bullpup triggers though. So that's a negative for me. Although the MSAR isn't too bad.

Went to Shot show this year and was able to fire one on Media day at the range. Both select fire (full auto) and the civilian legal semi.
Overall I like the concept of the gun. It shoots and handles well. Manages the .45ACP recoil well. I like that is uses Glock magazines. You can use the standard 13's or buy the extended 30's. The picatinny rail on top allows you to mount any sight you want. Very much like a flat top AR-15.
The things I did not like. The safety is in a position that I had to move my hand to get to it. The stock was sucky. It flexed when I held it to my shoulder. The top of the stock is a bit square and is not very comfortable.
The whole gun is bulky and fat looking. The extended 30 round magazines hang way down below the gun. (the 13 rounders fit flush). This negated any sense of compactness or ease of carry.
I think the KRISS excels as an SBR. But with the 16 inch barrel the whole system was a little unbalanced for my taste.
Overall a neat firearm. If I was to get one, I personally would go for an SBR version with suppressor. I would not bother with a 16 inch barrel.
