The more you make, the more they take. It's like they want to punish you for working hard and trying to better yourself. Rich folks don't pay for this country middle class people do.

The part in blue is true. Unfortunately, the part in red is not.

I thought it was a good rant.

I tried something new this year. I maxed out my withholdings on my W4 so that no taxes were taken out of my paycheck, created a formula in Excel based off the 2012 tax rates, and factored in the standard deduction. I kept track of my and my wife's taxable income and saved accordingly. I over-saved a little by design, and after we got all of our W2s, 1099s, etc, did my taxes on Turbotax (before I found out their 2A stance ). Turned out I owed less than I saved, and earned a few bucks in interest in the meantime. No interest free loan for the gubment last year from me.

Our tax system is evil and immoral. If we have an income tax, it should be flat and everybody should have to pay it. No deductions, no credits. The fact that somebody who pays no income tax can vote to raise my taxes is bullshit.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

    Someone mention me?

FWIW, a few weeks back, I paid over $2k in penalties and interest for "filing late" because the GD IRS stamped my extension 2 days late. I paid 50% of the fukin taxes owed with the estimate and the balance owed when I filed in August. Corksoakers fined me back to April and also denied my request for abatement of the penalty so it was bend over and take it up the ass so we can send your money to Mexican babies Mr. citizen.

I plan on telling my wife the the final figures while she is on the treadmill, hopefully minimizing any chance of a heart attack.
Looks to me like you're planning on using her life insurance money to pay the IRS after she falls off that treadmill and breaks her neck!

There is no such thing as 'too much' personal responsibility. Nice job.

I guess it depends on how you define rich. The middle class definitely provide a wider tax base for consumption taxes (gas, alcohol, etc.). Any way you cut it, if you make a decent income, you're getting screwed by the government.

Hopefully the running will prevent/minimize the surge of anxiety and she can run off her anger. Insurance is paid up.
