there was a tiny bid difference on 9news last night...
she wasn't sorry and would do it all over again.
If you're invited to sing THE National Anthem, it doesn't give you to go-ahead to give the non-standard version w/o the ok of the people(s) who hired you.
Sad
Another moron who has a far too high opinion of herself, and believes that calling herself an artist excuses her from being a moron.
I sent her a response. We always have to take the high ground. There's
a lot of arseholes out there, and they have to be somewhere:
Rene,
I don't hate you for what you did. I do think that you made a very
poor decision. You made a mockery of 70% of the population and
the nation's "happy birthday" song.
Long ago, twice, I took an oath to defend an idiot's right to freely
speak, burn the flag I'll be buried in and discredit my service.
Thanks a lot. (<- That's sarcasm unless you missed it)
She won't get it.
Sarcasm, Learn it, Know it, Live it....
Spleify 7-27-12Marlin is the end all be all of everything COAR-15...
Some people like to push thier beliefs on others. She is a piece of $hi+.,

and now look and all the free press she is getting because of it
but I do hope we don't forget her name and do what we can to see she doesn't work around here anymore...as for her singing anyway
Let me start with the fact that I'm caucasion and don't directly understand all of the issues that other races feel they face on a daily basis.
That said, it's folks like her who have an agenda and use words like "art" to decieve and the rest of us. Folks like her are causing more harm than good - for all of us, including themselves and their agendas. Let's not forget Rosanne Barr those many years ago. Her response to mocking the National Anthem was "art" and "comedy" and tried to justify it by saying that those who invited her to sing KNEW she was a comedian - "what did they expect?" It makes me sick!
Perhaps 20 years of military service has warped my sense of understanding a bit, but I don't see any reason for a "Black National Anthem". Such a thing dilutes true patriotism and pride in our nation. It polarizes individuals against each other. Either we are proud to call ourselves an "American" are we aren't. I AM! and I will continue to sing the national anthem the way it was written and intended to be sang.
