Default 02/23/13 .223 Day of Resitance

I saw there was a post in the General Discussion from 02/01/13 but no one replied. Should be in Legislation & Politics.

I have heard no talk of another rally for Colorado. Thought the date was unique although not sure if anyone outside of the firearms community would understand the catchy meaning of .223/02-23-13. I caught it off of a TTAG post

    Day of Resistance

Thoughts anyone heard anything organized here in Calirado?

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"

What are resisting? Exactly how are we resisting?
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

I am just passing it off as a clever name and date tie in to organize more rallies with any group wanting to do it.

As far as resisting, we are resisting the onslaught of feel good pushed party line agendas.

And some fun food for thought:

List of rally sign one liners:
An armed man is a Citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

Glock: The original point and click interface.

Gun Control is not about guns; it's about control.

If guns are outlawed, can we use swords?

If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.

Free Men do not ask permission to bear arms.

If you don't know your Rights you don't have any.

Those who trade Liberty for security have neither.

The United States Constitution © 1791. All Rights Reserved.

What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand?

The Second Amendment is in place in case they ignore the others.

64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

Guns only have two enemies: rust and Liberals.

Know guns, know peace and safety. No guns, no peace nor safety.

You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

    911 - Government sponsored Dial-a-Prayer.

Assault is a behavior, not a device.

Criminals love gun control -- it makes their jobs safer.

If guns cause crime, then matches cause arson.

Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.

You only have the Rights you are willing to fight for.

Enforce the "gun control laws" we have, don't make more.

When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.

"…a government of the people, by the people, for the people…."

Gun control is hitting what you aim at.

Those who live by the sword have a fighting chance.

Blaming a gun for crime is like blaming a fork for Rosie O'Donnell for being FAT!

My Gun? I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Firearm safety - It's a matter for education, not legislation.

Bill of Rights. Void where prohibited by law.

The day they want my guns they'll have to bring theirs.

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

How can you praise freedom, and condemn that which gains and preserves it?

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.

"…quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est." […a sword never kills anybody; it's a tool in the killer's hand.]

"The right to buy weapons is the right to be free."

"Shooting. The only sport endorsed by the Founding Fathers."

"My wife and my gun: 'til death do us part."

"When they come for your guns, give them the ammo first!"

"If you are free to be a liberal -- thank a man with a gun!"

"Without my gun, the King of England could just come into my house and start quartering soldiers!"

"The D.C. gun ban works - just ask James Brady."

"Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun!"

"Keep guns out of the hands of criminals, buy them for yourself."

"Guns are smart enough. We need smarter politicians.

"When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law." -Frederic Bastiat

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."
