You're dying from the moment you're born. Might as well resign yourself to suicide at the first sign that life isn't all that you'd ever want it to be, instead of doing your damnedest to try and make it that way, right? It's easier, after all, to go with the flow. Hell no! Piss on that idea. Life is all about beating that dead horse, and kicking its rotting stinking ass to one's best ability.
The founders only had the opportunity to create what they did, because the efforts a relative minority outweighed the apathy of the majority. We should all be objective about what's going on, but defeatism just sucks.
You also have to stop deluding yourself and face reality.
So what do you propose and what are you doing to change it? If you feel strongly about something like your rights, freedoms and local politics then I honestly believe that you have an obligation to stand up and say something. We might not win every argument, but at least we will not lie down.
I don't like it anymore than the rest of you. I don't like giving up either, and I didn't say anything about lying down, but the time to talk is over. I have no more to say.
So for an update- I went to Sen. Nicholson's town hall meeting in Evergreen on Saturday. I had a chance to speak about how I am reluctant to use my GI Bill to go to school and asked what the difference is between a college campus and say (my example was Auraria) the sidewalk right across the street. That got the woman thinking, and she said that she's as yet undecided on these bills (but we can guess). It was a great turnout, lots of pro-2A people, and only 3 anti's that were identified. One woman left and was muttering "You guys are all crazy." I had Rich Wyatt standing next to me, and he was actually quite a trip when he spoke. I support his stance and his pull on the issue, even though I don't support his business (he even admitted that he collects money for purchases before the CBI check is complete). We even had a girl who was at Columbine during the shooting and she spoke very well. Plus, to play the emotion card (like Democrats do!) a pregnant woman spoke out against these bills and said she wants the ability to protect her family. I think it went well and we proved where the majority of the district stands on this issue... Now I just hope we can get this woman to be one of the Dems to vote no, although I'm not holding my breath.
ETA: Just remembered... even Senator Nicholson stated clearly and plainly- "These laws will be very difficult to enforce." Thus proving Colorado's general assembly has gone full-retard.![]()
