They're going to engineer some strain of food-crop or pesticide that will have a completely unintended consequence that escaped detection during safety-testing. The contamination is going to spread from farmland to farmland by tractor-wheels, birds, hooves, the wind, and wipe out all the food crops. This already nearly happened when some university scientists were doing research on a strain of Klebsiella. This lab ASSISTANT (ie a punk graduate student not even getting paid anything) was told to run some tests with this bacteria on sterile soil. Well, he figured "What good does running this test on sterile soil do?" so he ran it on viable soil/plants and the bacteria rendered it sterile. This stuff was about to be tested in fields, and it would have gotten out of control with disastrous consequences had he not run tests against directions and alerted his professor about it.

Actually China will get us first, due to the lack of anyone being outraged by the oops we've had the past decade. From dog food to childrens toys. Nary a blip on the radar. When it is reported, for some reason the media HYPE never arrives and stories fall by the wayside.

About Fast n Furious. It is a matter of record that it was a plan to gin up support for gun control. In fact, even without the emails its completely plausible that would be the purpose due to how it was run - no tracking devices, for example. I have 2 tinfoiley theories after that.

1. (I really don't think this is tinfoiley, ir seems common sense to me) Mexico is in on it. Where is the outrage from Calderon and other Mexican officials for
- the death toll of mexican citizens from FnF guns? Any believable head of state would be in the newspapers demanding investigations, heads to roll, reparations, etc from a scheme by a foreign government to get guns into bad guys hands in your own country
- the fact that the ATF intentionally did not tell mexican counterparts about the op. Again, any believable head of state would be demanding heads to roll and wouldn't stop until they had

2. (This is the real tinfoiley part) The reason the mexican gov is silent on FnF is because they have been promised some really big gifts if they cooperate. My own theory is a North American regional government (US and mexico first, canada and latin america later) where they have a significant if not equal role.
