Default Anyone have or can give me any feedback for S&W 627?

    Hi Guys,

Im looking for sometime ago for a "snub" revolver only for conceal carry, first thought in a S&W-60 but days ago find this beautiful S&W 627 when surfing s&w website and im in love with but never have one in my hands, my questions are 2:

1- how bulky is? i hate carry heavy guns, can be compared with a S&W Governor?

2- how is the kick? 357magnum in a 2.6 barrel sounds like the kick is heavy.

opinions? recommendations? for a 1k revolver i expect an awesome revolver. Im not looking for a 357 caliber exactly but 8 rounds in my opinion are a lot better than 5.

    thanks in advance :-)

The 627 is a fantastic model but I believe that this revo is built on an N-frame which would make it significantly bulkier than say a 686.

I need to find more info about the frames, what is the most tiny or small frame?

J-frame, I think, is their smallest frame size.

The smallest of the S&W frames is the J-frame. If you want to be able to shoot .357 Mag you may want to look at the Model 640.

Thanks cysoto but I like the 627 just for the 8 rounds and the barrel, for 5 rounds in a 640 i prefer the 60 in 38spl

I don't know if another model comes in 38spl with more rounds but frame J :-)

I am not 100% certain but I think that all J frames are 5-shot.

Ok, you cannot beat physics. If you want a nice small gun that's light and easy to carry in 357 Mag, then you are going to have to deal with abusive recoil. If you want a 357 Mag that is more shootable and has less recoil, then you will have to carry a heavier and larger gun. It's Newton's third law; the mass and velocity of the bullet will equal the mass and velocity of the gun in recoil.

An 8 shot revolver is thicker than your wrist in diameter. Personally, I'm not carrying something that thick and trying to conceal it.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Shooting .357 mag out of a J-frame is not fun at all.
