My Feedback + 50 lost during the site crash
I used to have some photos (lost in the hard drive crash) of a Willys CJ5 that a guy had made special brackets and mounted 2 or 3 ammo cans under the hood, inside the engine compartment. He kept hand tools, spark plugs, fuel filters, belts, stuff like that in them. Awesome idea, wish I still had the photos. But ammo cans are great for small tool kits and extra small parts. Safe containers for extra motor oil bottles, and so on.....

Here's some photos of various under-hood ideas for mounting them. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...w=1152&bih=515
And of course you could just put ammo in them....

Rondog, your shelves look like they are bowing a little bit? Don't you think you should get rid of some of that ammo and send it to me? It might be safer as my shelves are built a little heavier.
I have basically the same set up. I'll admit, my shelves are bowing a little as well.
I bolted a couple to the front of my trailers to hold tie-downs, chains and other small tools. Most of them are used for their original purpose.
Yeah, those shelves aren't real happy with me. That's all going to be replaced with a large wood cabinet with shelves made from 2x2's and plywood, lag bolted to the wall studs, with 1x4's for the corner posts and a center post, then enclosed on the sides with 3/4" plywood and 3/4" plywood doors, with hasps and padlocks. It'll be fully enclosed and "secured", will look like any other utility cabinet. Don't need anybody seeing what's inside my garage, thank you. Got it all covered up right now with a blanket.

One in my car- carries emergency kit (deicer spray, gloves, candle, waterproof matches and batteries for my flashlight), plus first aid supplies.
One in my house- cleaning kit for my guns.
