Default City of Colorado Springs allows its workers to carry guns

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) --Colorado Springs city employees can now carry concealed weapons to work as long as they have the proper permit.
The Colorado Springs City Council decided Tuesday it was not fair to exclude workers because public and elected officials are already allowed to carry concealed weapons into most of the city's 140 or so buildings.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, some city officials opposed the change, saying it will not make city buildings any safer.
Mayor Steve Bach, who proposed the policy change, acknowledged that he and his wife have concealed carry permits and he carries his weapon when he thinks it's appropriate.

Can we make the Springs the state capital and strip Denver of any and all power?

Great, more arming of gov employees. It sounds as though Mayor Steve Bach is somewhat of a hypocrite.

I don't read it that way at all. He carries when he thinks it is appropriate FOR HIM. He's not projecting that on anyone else, to the contrary, he's changing policy to allow CCW in all city buildings by those employed there.

I am once again proud to say I live down here. I say put up a boarder at the county line and start our own state. Plenty gun loving people here

Yes but not for people who are not city employees who have gone through the process to obtain a permit legally.
