On a serious note; eat whole ginger root. Reduces swelling and helps with pain.....

You don't need to go to the ER, there are walk in clinics everywhere.

BTW when I broke my shoulder a few years ago aleve was the only thing that helped. I took 2 in the morning, then 1 about dinner time and it really made a difference.

They gave me Percocet for my back, I gave 'em back because they messed with me and kept me awake. Read later on in the paper that those things can sell for as much as $70 each on the street! Blew my mind, the damn things didn't do anything for me, certainly not $70 worth for one of 'em.

So, obviously, the reason you can't buy painkillers worth a shit OTC is because the lines of junkies and dopers would be out the door.

As a hold-over from years of military medicine, I take Ibuprofen like some people eat M&Ms. If it can't be fixed by Vitamin M, I prefer to suffer.

On a tangentially related note, I had the onset of a cold last night, with congestion, draining in the back of the throat, and pressure in the ears. I took some Mucinex for the first time, and it is truly awesome. I woke up feeling great and able to breath. On the other hand, I have a taste in my mouth that can only be described as though a dog ate it's own vomit and then defecated in my mouth. I suppose I'll take the trade-off, though.
Math is tough. Let's go shopping!

First time I took mucinex, I woke up the next day and asked her when we got a cat.

    What cat?, she asked.

The one that pooped in my mouth.
Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.

Tramadol is good. My friend buys them online for her dog. After four days you will go through withdrawls without them. I found out becasuse I had some prescribed for a toothache.

Aleve, aka Naproxen help my back and shoulder when ibuprofen won't put a dent in the pain. Save some money though and buy it at Dollar Tree.
