So all the BS that Piece O'crap Morgan and his cronies are spewing got me to thinking- have you ever met someone who did not enjoy shooting? Im not talking about being afraid of the weapon or not having been so cannot relate, but have you ever met someone who would return a 10/22 with a full mag if they were handed one at a range? I honestly have not. A couple of examples-
In college I knew many liberal whackjobs that abhorred guns and shooting, until I took them to the range. Once they shoot a gun, see that hole appear in the target or the bottle break or the tin can go zipping off into space, they are hooked. Never seen someone hand back a .22 rifle or pistol without a smile on thier face, even if they missed the target. I took this young lady named Valerie out shooting to an indoor basement range. She had never been shooting before, and only went to prove to me how violent I was. Typical liberal, white, educated, college chick who believed guns were only for killing people and served no other purpose, not even hunting was a legit reason. Started her off with a Ruger 10/22, then a variety of handguns including a Dan Wesson shooting .38 wadcutters and the .22 pistol. She shot my Ruger Mk2 for almost an hour. I had to get her her own lane so I could shoot. When we left, she was already asking when I was going shooting again. She was totally fascinated with the idea that I reloaded my own ammunition, that there were actual shooting competitions, and there was an entire world of shooting sports out there she knew nothing about.
Recently I took my wife and her mom out shooting. They are from Beijing, where there is obviously oppressive gun control (one of the reasons I own property there but do not live there) and had never even held a firearm. My wife thought guns are only for killing. Never even thought about shooting, ever. her mom was a competitive shooter in the Chinese Army. I took them out to Cherry Creek and they got to see that SHOCKER! there were whole families out there shooting! And everyone was having a great time. The wife shot my .22 pistol and would have probably been happy to have stayed all day right there in the lane had we not had other plans for the day. Her mom had a great time as well, and was really surprised by the family atmosphere. I dont think she had ever seen Dads out with their young sons and daughters out shooting or that it had ever occurred to her.
IN any case, I dont know of anyone who hates to shoot. Its wired into our DNA. So why is it so danged hard for people to get the simple concepts that people kill people, not firearms, and an individual who wants to do harm is going to manage it no matter how much you try and prevent or deter it. The best possible thing is to enjoy the life you have, and shooting might help you with that!
