Some more info about our CCW classes and our philosophy:
We always teach in tandem, so you will have at least two instructors to your course. This allows us to offer differing approaches, options and opinions on each topic covered. We keep the classes small; we average less than 5 students per instructor. Our classes, while still containing a presentation and traditional teaching element to them are focused on interactive discussion and participation between the students and instructors. We also keep ourselves available for you after the class. Whether it is for future formal classes, private instruction, or just a "lets go to the range and shoot together for fun" we are around to continue development, as well as answer any questions or concerns you have with laws, the CCW application process and any other relevant topics.
The class typically run $150.00, plus your costs in range time (usually $11 per person) and whatever ammo you shoot at the range. We give COAR members a $25.00 discount, making the class $125.00 each.
The class is in South Denver, near Evans and I-25. The range session is just west, near Evans and Santa Fe.
Our classes are offered to folks of all skill levels and ages. We pride ourselves on educating folks on the joys of shooting and the responsibilities of owning a firearm.
The classroom portion is approximately 6 hours and then we will head over to a shooting range which is another 2-3 hours or as much shooting as folks would like to do. We will cover all the basics of different types of firearms(ie, semi-auto and revolver..etc.) and their functions, the responsibilities of owning and carrying a firearm, the advantages of firearms and a full section on CCW(concealed carry weapons) training. We have a number of different firearms and holsters to show the different choices and give different carrying options. Different demonstrations and total class participation is a goal of ours.
Our course is in depth and complete, covering all aspects of owning and carrying a firearm. Unlike other classes you get two instructors with our course, that’s twice the training and knowledge. Combined we have over 55 years of firearms experience.
Current NRA certifications of your instructor include:
- NRA Pistol Instructor
- NRA Personal Protection in the Home Instructor
- NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor
We are always striving for more knowledge and gaining future certifications.
