I decided to send the following note to Jones this morning. Not expecting a response:

Senator Jones,



Thank you for at least agreeing to stay last night to hear from your constituents on the four lawful citizen control bills discussed yesterday evening. On the other hand, it is disappointing that you attempted to repeatedly dodge these issues at townhalls by scheduling “other topics”. It is clear these are bills that you want to avoid any sort of open discussion on, if you can get away with it. The look on your face last night said volumes; the look of someone not looking forward to what was coming up. In fact, when the library people said they would keep the library open past 8:00, the disappointment on your face was noticeable to all in attendance. The same goes for the response to the Democrat attorney who said “we Democrats often do not get it right when it comes to the constitution”.



This naturally goes hand-in hand with your consistent refusal to answer direct and appropriate questions from your constituents, including the first question of how you would vote on the four bills. I expect honest answers from my elected representatives, and your performance last night was disappointing and most cowardly. Shame on you. We expect and deserve better.
