Default Email from Representative Lori Saine

Email urging our participation below -

Several weeks ago four bills came up before the Colorado House of Representatives:
    HB13-1224: Prohibiting Large-Capacity Ammunition Magazines
HB13-1226: No Concealed Carry At Colleges
HB13-1228: Payment For Background Checks For Gun Transfers
HB13-1229: Background Checks For Gun Transfers

I voted against all four of these gun-grabbing bills as did my Republican colleagues. These four bills are major steps toward removing the citizens’ unalienable rights to keep and bear arms to defend themselves and their families from tyranny and to provide self-defense.

I have been working with my Senate and House colleagues on bills that protect the public by expanding and protecting the broadest rights possible to carry concealed weapons; our message of safety must be heard by those legislators considering gun-control legislation and to the folks in Colorado that might be on the fence regarding this issue.

We know which policies will save more lives and upholding the right to bear arms and carry concealed are the only public gun policies that have impacted and reduced crime rates significantly.

Therefore I urge you to come and testify and urge your neighbors and friends to come and testify in opposition to these bills being presented in the Senate State, Veteran’s & Military Affairs Committee in Senate Committee Room 356 starting at 10:30 AM:

HB13-1229: Background Checks For Gun Transfers
HB13-1228: Payment For Background Checks For Gun Transfers
HB13-1226: No Concealed Carry At Colleges

AND these bills being presented in the Senate Judiciary Committee in the Old Supreme Court Chamber, Room 2 also starting at 10:30 AM:

SB13-197: No Firearms For Domestic Violence Offenders
    HB13-1224: Prohibiting Large-Capacity Ammunition Magazines
    SB13-196: Assault Weapon Responsibility Act
SB13-195: No Online Training For Concealed Handgun Permits

The times and dates can change due to the volume of folks that sign up to testify. I will send out follow-up emails if there are any changes to the dates and locations of the hearings.

Again, thank you for your support. Feel free to call me with any questions on these bills or any other matter.

It is an honor to serve you,

    Representative Lori Saine

Three cheers for Lori! Now if all the rest could 'see the light' on these issues...

Isn't it already illegal for Domestic Violence Offenders and anyone on a restraining order to have a firearm?

The law would ban possession of firearms, if someone files a restraining order against you. Federal law covers if you are convicted.

    Way to go Rep. Saine!!!

Keep the emails going, the tweets tweeting and we will show up en masse at the Capitol on Monday! If the Senate Committees vote in favor of these ill-conceived bills, then they will know that WE are watching them, and will be motivated to make a change in the next election.
