Any animal that bites people like that should be put down...and anyone that chooses to keep an animal like that is a fool and should be punished severely if it harms anyone.

Sounds like an irresponsible dog owner to me. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he encourages that type of behavior from his dog.
It's a shame, but good dogs happen to bad people. I would have done the same thing as you. Smart move not taking the job, i don't think that would work out for anyone involved, especially the dog!
Oh, and paragraphs are your friend![]()
I'm in the real estate biz (no, I'm not an agent) and I get charged by dogs all the time. I've only been bitten once (Chi-hua-hua) but I maced that lil farker but good and he left me alone the rest of the job.
Most of the time, not acting scared will work, sometimes, you need a progressive force response.
I have two english bulldogs and I cant imagine them trying to bite someone. Why would you want a dog like that. Now if someone knocks on our door they snarl and growl but I want them to do that. Once we let them in they are wiggling all over trying to get a pat on the head. Some people.
This is my .02 if somebody wants to own a vicious dog fine with me but you best damn control it so it does not attack an innocent person. The problem I see is most asshats that own pitbulls and the like are iresponsible and do not control their dog like the guy mentioned by the OP.
I personally will never own an agressive dog I do not wish to deal with that BS. The year before last me and the neighbor behind me tore down the fence and cut down some trees that was pushing the fence over. We never got around to getting a new fence up untill last summer. He has two children one was a 4 year old boy and the other was a 2 month old girl at that time.
I would have went through hell for a year straight if I had a vicious dog. I would have had to baby sit the thing anytime it was outside. Not to mention my next door neighbor runs daycare out of her home. Instead I just let my dog out and the neighbors 4 year old boy had a new freind to play with.
The only problem I had was my dog is a damn theif she kept stealing his toys and bringing them home leaving them on my deck. Every couple of days I had to return toys.![]()
"The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion." (Edmund Burke 1784)
Just take a rolled up newspaper to the owner and repeat "BAD OWNER!" every time the dog does something stupid. About the third time the owner should get it.
I have dogs and if they were stalking a guest, I would put them in the house/garage/car and leave them. How hard is it?
