Our eclectic group of firearms enthusists was again at the capitol today. We met with Senators who appreciated us being there, those who did not, those who will not be swayed from their devotion to the political left and a few who are near or on the fence. We also spoke with the Governors Cheif legal advisor and Fox31.
Just a few points to consider in your communications with Senators this weekend. You might not like some of these, but in 4 days of personal meetings, these keep coming forth.
1. Stating your position short and sweet gives it higher probability of being read and considered.
2. Claiming affiliation with the NRA, or RMGO does hurt your potential impact with those on the fence.
3. Threatening in any manner except to use your vote and voice against them IS HURTING US and galvanizing the resolve of some who are against the 2nd Amendment.
4. Thanking them for their service does help.
5. If you can find a bill they sponsored that you like, give them Kudos (for some, that may be impossible).
6. Understand that most liberals look at gevernment as the protector of the oppressed and use that to focus your arguments.
