    Default Another FNG

Well got referred by XC ( not sure what numbers he has behind it here) on a snowmobiling site we are members on. Moved to Colorado first of the year and had orig. planned a AR purchase early spring, with the craze right now not sure it is going to happen that soon with the scarcity of ammo and parts I may be going away from a 15 and leaning towards a 10. I have everything to reload .308 rounds and a huge pile of brass for that so may be the route I go. Who knows.

Been reloading for going on 15 years at this point, not to the crazy intense level some do.

Also looking to get into doing some dog hunting while I am here.

Welcome! You can find a lot of good places for coyote and prairie dogs if you are willing to get out and talk to people.

I've got zero issue with asking. Seen 3 dogs on my job site here in the springs just need to get a caller purchased and then try it out. Been archery hunting for years and am adding in predator control to help out with game herds. Have to find something to take place of my fishing habits. Not a lot of world class rivers with in 20 min like I had in Idaho.

I use a call and a decoy but it depends where I'm hunting with what I use. Areas east of the springs I rarely use a call because a lot of people work that area and the coyotes are smart to it. So talk to the ranchers and find where they put their killed animals which is usually in their back forty and they will almost always give you access if you are respectful enough. I usually try and stay a hour or so east of the springs because with the amount of my fellow military running around trying to hunt coyotes it gets to busy for my liking. I also hunt coyotes up near Guffey where there is a lot less pressure on them so calls and decoys work like a charm. Same applies there with getting access from ranchers, I started with access to one ranch and just with the ranchers talking to each other I ended up with access to 4 ranches that bordered each other.

Thanks for the heads up Ford. I sort of figured that with all military here that there would be some pretty good pres. on them. Its pretty close to the situation that we had back home with all of the college students hunting em plus all the locals back home. I just need to find something to keep me busy until the big fish start running up the dream stream
