    I don't know anything about the composition of the drones... I would think that the rotary-blade type affairs would be able to be disabled with birdshot, but what about other types? Would a skeet gun with some creative loading be able to down one?

    they wont necessarily be hovering 50 feet or less above your location. they can be miles out. little chance of you hitting one that way.

    Most of these drones fly so high you wouldn't even know they were up there. And that, plus the altitude at which they fly, makes it impossible to shoot them down with conventional rifles.

    you have obviously never heard jesse jackson explain it. you could shoot a drone down with an AR in jesse's world.

    But yeah, armed drones will be up high enough that you wont even know they are there before it is too late.
