    Default Elevator Murder Experiment

It's a CNN video but good for discussion:

    http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c3#...p-a-murder.cnn

As someone who studied Milgram, Asch, Zimbardo in skool I was rather intrigued by this.

Good thing they did that in NYC and not here in Colorado...ummm... never mind. The way CO is going, ehh, wouldn't made a big difference. What I should have said is good thing it didn't happen in WY or TX where people are still free. Someone would have had a gun pulled on them!!

Getting the clear shot to fire would/could be difficult but a barrel against the temple might be necessary. This is where strong verbal commands come into place before pulling the trigger. The only time I would ever pull my gun when it's not my life (or wife) on the line is when it comes to murder/rape/assault and I think this is a situation where the gun would clear kydex pretty fast. To clarify the last sentence-if someone grabs a purse of someone near me and they are running away, then the most I'm going to do is be a good witness.

My reaction to being robbed would all depend on the number of witnesses around.

The guy with the camera phone at the end is what is wrong with our society. "Let me get my iphone out so i can post this to facebook and youtube." what a douche. Its tough to say how I would act in that scenario but hopefully i would do more then these people

Also keep in mind there's most likely production crew members nearby to help prevent any Good Samaritan shootings. They may not be obvious, like a guy with a camera on his shoulder or one holding a boom mike, but I'd bet the two actors "fighting" in the elevator are NOT alone. No film company is going to open themselves up to that kind of liability by putting people in danger of getting shot by a third party that thinks he's stopping a real attack and saving someone. There's always more going on behind the camera lens than in front of it. Safety is always Priority #1 and there's always a team of corporate lawyers to make sure of it.

It's like I told the wife and grandson when they were scared of rides at DisneyWorld...."Hey, this is Disney, one of the largest and most powerful companies in the world. They're not going to risk any lawsuits from people getting hurt on any rides, and they have huge teams of lawyers whose sole job is to make certain that everything's as safe as possible and The Corporate Ass is covered."

I believe that took place in the UK. The only people there with guns are criminals... I don't think they had to worry about those types saving the day.

The only way to truly know what YOU will do in that specific situation, is to be in that situation.

    Everything else is speculation.

I pray no one ever has to find out what they will or will not do. We all have to live with the decisions we make.

    Be safe.

The authorities would probably say not to intervene. Call it in and let them handle it.
Recent example: There was a drunk driver that hit several cars in a COS intersection last week, one of those involved followed him and kept the dispatcher informed of the driver's location. In the tv interview with the cops, they said the guy that followed him should not have done that.
I'm not one to sit back and let aholes get away with shit like that.
