North shoot on 071208

Is anyone going to be at the North shoot this Saturday? I have never been to this spot to shoot, and I thought it would be a chance to meet some new folks and check out the hardware.

My daughter is chomping at the bit to shoot her new .22, she's mad she only hit two Sod Poodles the last time out and is determined to get better. I'm glad she likes this stuff at only 7 byears old, hopefully it will continue.

A few of us went last week for the 4th. I won't be up this Saturday, but there are a few others who do go to the North Site who might chime in.

Since you haven't been there, just a little tip: pack lightly or bring a cart to haul your gear up. Not that it's a long walk or anything, but whatever you plan to have with you, needs to be carried to the firing line from the roadway. When it's warm out, having to take 3-4 trips to pack up is a pain in the you know what.

If by the north site you mean the shooting range outside of Lyons, I'm planning to take a couple of friends from work out shooting there, so I'll be there.

What time do people usually go? If it's early I'll leave the kidling home with Mom. At least the weather is going to cool off a little for the weekend.

I'm heading up to the North site this weekend. Not sure if it will be Saturday or Sunday just yet, since I've got to fix my sprinkler system this weekend.

Personally I hate mornings so I try to never leave my house before 9 or 9:30 which gets me up there by 11.

I'm meeting with the guys at 10:30 and we'll probably head up and be there around 11-11:30.

I think I'm going to leave around 8:00 or so. I have to take my daughter to a birthday party at 1:00 so I'll need to be back. Maybe I'll see some of you up there. I'll be in my green Saturn ghetto commuter car.

Met a few people at the shooting area around 10:00. Everyone there was very friendly and the comaraderie was great. It's awesome to show up, and have the other people ask if you want to try out their guns. One guy in particular was letting people shoot his 454 Casul gotta love seeingh the expression on people fgaces that have never shot a hand cannon before.

Didn't end up making it up to the range until about 1:30, met a couple of folks up there, and it was a pleasure to help my friends learn more about shooting and giving them to chance to play with firearms. Watching them work things out and get familiar with the firearms was a very rewarding experience.

A grand time was had by all.
