    Default Christians on the board...

Ok, so I have a question for the fellow Christians on the board. First, let me offer this disclaimer: I am NOT in any way claiming to be representing or speaking on behalf of my religious constituency - my behavior, thought patterns, general paranoia/animosity, and rabid anti-gov't views are often times in direct conflict with some of the tenets of Christian faith. I drink, I cuss like a sailor, and am one of those frothing gun-nuts the liberals are so afraid of. I also believe that God will convict me to change the things about myself which are most important to Him. Which is where I derive my question...

How (or do) you reconcile what the Bible has to say re: submitting to governmental authority, turning the other cheek, not inciting/engaging in violent thoughts or actions etc, with the views I know most of us on the board hold re: anti-governmentalism, self-defense, and general ideas of how we'd react to noxious criminal or governmental encroaches on our pursuit of life/liberty?

I believe in all of the core aspects of protestant Christianity, ie: sin, salvation, Christ's divinity, Biblical inerrancy/inspiration, end times etc.

On the other hand, I believe that all current world governments are metastatic offshoots of a global, cancerous oligarchy of pure evil. I also believe that I would have not the slightest hesitation in reacting to the fullest extent I am capable of (no need to get gratuitously specific) to a threat against myself, my family, or my property. I also know what side of the fence I will gleefully and wholeheartedly be on when the inevitable coming revolution occurs. (God grant that it be in my lifetime, as I don't believe that subsequent generations will be outraged enough to act on it. I would love to leave things better for my kids.)

I'd really, truly, hopefully like to avoid this turning into a religion vs atheism debate. Thats not the point at all. I believe what I believe, and I don't try to impose my views on anybody else. This is primarily directed at the other people on the board who believe like I do, and have found themselves in a similar dichotomy mentally.
