ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ, we are the III%, CIP2, and some other catchphrase meant to aggravate progreSSives who are hell bent on taking rights away...
I will also be at the meeting Friday. I am not in Senator Morse's district, but I do have some time on my hands and want to help.
ETA: ugh, something came up and I can't make it to the meeting tonight after all. Anyone who does go, please let me know what I can do to assist.

I would probably be what BaileyGuns is saying does not exist. I love my guns and was up there on Monday fighting for them. I am one of those that called them out in the "Responsibility" hearing and at least got double barrel shotguns off that stupid list. One of the only changes they agreed to. I have several guns on the Federal ban list and apparently if lead comes out the end, every gun I own is on the Colorado list. I am not somebody who says I support the 2nd while trying to kill it. I was literally the first in line to speak my peace. I was not heard because they had already made up their minds. It was a sham of a hearing. There are more like me out there. Bush made me sick for what he did to this country but what is happening now is just more of the same. A guy on this forum lives just down the street with many (not all) of the same views. Folks, thats 4 more votes toward getting this travesty overturned. Thats feet willing to walk door to door. Thats money coming out of our pockets toward a better candidate. I can't argue that this is not partisan. The elitist BS that is up there voting our rights away is not what I agree with and we need EVERY vote we can get to turn this back around. Don't push people away due to party lines. Judge them by there actions. Judge them by how they vote if elected, if they go to rally's/hearings such as Monday, simply sign the petitions or donate money/PMAG wrappers. If guns are a Republican only thing..... A house divided cannot stand. Please realize that some of us are what used to be called a 'Blue Dog Democrat' and we do not all agree with what is happening here in Colorado or in Washington!![]()
Well that is nice. But tell me again, what was the vote in the House on these gun bills? What were the votes in the senate committees?
I seem to recall that it was pretty lopsided.
In the Senate Judiciary committee today, the votes were pretty lopsided as well.
Also which major political party has gun bans as part of their platform?
So you know what, it does seem to be a Republican thing, as they are the ones voting No.
ETA: And that is doing what you ask, Judging them by their Actions and their Votes

Voting Democrat has consequences.
Voting Democrat reminds me of the parable of the lady and the snake.
A young girl was trudging along a mountain path, trying to reach her grandmother's house.
It was bitter cold, and the wind cut like a knife.
When she was within sight of her destination, she heard a rustle at her feet.
Looking down, she saw a snake.
Before she could move, the snake spoke to her.
He said, "I am about to die.
It is too cold for me up here, and I am freezing.
There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving.
Please put me under your coat and take me with you."
"No," replied the girl. "I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake.
If I pick you up, you will bite me, and your bite is poisonous."
"No, no," said the snake. "If you help me, you will be my best friend.
I will treat you differently."
The little girl sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over.
She looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and had to admit that it was the most beautiful snake she had ever seen.
Suddenly, she said, "I believe you. I will save you.
All living things deserve to be treated with kindness."
The little girl reached over, put the snake gently under her coat and proceeded toward her grandmother's house.
Within a moment, she felt a sharp pain in her side.
The snake had bitten her.
"How could you do this to me?" she cried.
"You promised that you would not bite me, and I trusted you!"
"You knew what I was when you picked me up," hissed the snake as he slithered away.
BOOM! That just happened! Well put! Took the words out of my mouth. All the yes votes were democrat, and all the republicans voted no... Not to be rude, Hound, but people like YOU elected these folks. And while you personally may not agree with the anti-gun platform, YOUR PARTY does.
"There is no news in the truth, and no truth in the news."
"The revolution will not be televised... Instead it will be filmed from multiple angles via cell phone cameras, promptly uploaded to YouTube, Tweeted about, and then shared on Facebook, pending a Wi-Fi connection."
You guys are failing to see the point I was making. We need REAL PRO GUN people to run against these people in primaries. Primaries are not only another bite at the apple to defeat them, it is really the only bite at the apple in some districts.
The Progresive movement in the dem party has loud and proud and has little to do with the hard working middle americans that made the basis of the Democratic party. The liberals, the left side or the liberterian party has been gutted in the Dem party. How did the Dem party of of the 60s that feared a powerful govt become the 21st century party of ever larger govt and powers?
It is time for Hound to HUNT!!! Working class (I hate that term) union workers need to take their Democratic party back from the Politician-UnionLeaders that really just try to keep their polyglot of voting groups together in the hatred of "the man".
There used to be Dems that valued individual freedom. The Progressives have killed that viewpoint and Bloomberg is the poster child for their desire to control every part of your life except you uterus.
PRIMARY fights- painful, hand-to-hand, house-by-house, block-by-block will bleed these progressives dry. Bloomberg bucks or boots on the ground. When did a bombardment win a war?
PRIMARY fights.
I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.
DeadHand you got. We can sit here and argue about how Bush screwed it up and how the Republican party left their people vs how the Democrats are leaving their people now and while we fight we will both lose our guns. Honestly I did not think they were stupid enough to take on guns again after last time. The other option is that we realize that we are agreeing, at least on guns, and fight to keep our guns together. Something like the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I find that on most topics people aren't so far apart on most topics when they talk on an individual level. It is when those at the Government level, start telling us what to say that we are most divided. I am REAL PRO GUN. I grew up in Missouri. The first time I shot a gun was a 12g at 5 years old that blew me on my ass. Grandpa got tired of me demanding to shoot the damn thing. It was a learning experience. I don't agree with what they are doing and that is not the party I elected (BTW not just on guns). If you want to keep your guns you going to have to find more people like me. Not push us away. For every person who has not voted, that you get to vote for guns, you will get a single vote. For every person that voted Democrat in the past, you really gain two votes since you are also taking away a vote while also gaining one. When you consider that normally a family will vote the same, you are gaining even more. As DeadHand points out... right now..... They are coming after your guns. Anybody that votes for those bills has lost my vote in 2014. We just need to mobilize more of us! We are not all cookie cutter clones any more than you are. Let's work together, get our rights back and tell Bloomberg/Obama to stay out of our state.![]()
Exactly. The way we are going to get more is energizing all sides, Republicans, Democrats and Independents. Believe it or not all sides own guns and are willing to fight for them. Don't turn any vote away, bring them in and listen to each other on how we can achieve the same goals.
