    What I sent:

Hand guns, rifles and their associated field of accessories have been legally available on and off for many decades. It is really important for you to know that there are millions of us throughout the great state of Colorado, and througout this Nation, that own these variations of hand guns, rifles and accessories responsibly and with great care. While rampage tragedies using guns is a horrible situation, and I feel a lot of pain for the victims of these incidents and their families and everything theve been through....it is not fair to penalize responsible weapons owners in our state, or in the Nation for that matter.

In the Theater situation, his drum magazine malfunctioned, and he did most of the damage with hand guns. In Sandy Hook, he left his rifle in the trunk of the car and did his damage with hand guns. No loaded weapon can harm anyone unless a person is operating it. Mental health is the real issue here, not the method of the madness.

Please do not infringe on the rights of the Second Amendment. Please cast a NO vote on these initiatives. If any of these bills pass, they will only affect the responsible gun owner unfairly, the criminal or criminally and mentally unstable people will still find a way to do whatever damage they intend to do against innocent victims. National obesity affects over 50 % of this countries population....passing these gun bills would be like you passing a Spoon Initiative because too many people have spoons, and eat too much food with those spoons. How many people is that killing every day of the week over time?

I appreciate your time, please consider a NO vote on these gun issues, I don't think you have the right, to take away my rights...I love my state, and I love my country...Please don't comprimise my rights by voting yes.

    Sincerely,

Considering where Senator John Kefalas represents (CSU), it might be useful to contact him too, specifically about HB1226. When contacting Senator John Kefalas, note that CSU is in his district and ASCSU at CSU had a survey about 2 weeks ago. 79% of students surveyed did not favor a ban.

"The survey asked students a series of questions on whether or not they support banning concealed weapons on campus. Out of the 579 students who responded, 79 percent said they opposed any ban of concealed weapons on campus."
