Principal Susan Wright released a statement to local media defending the decision.
“These are toys that were commonplace in the past,” she wrote. “However, some parents prohibit all guns as toys. In light of that difference, the school offered to replace the soldiers with another item and the soldiers were returned home with the student.”
“Living in a democratic society entails respect for opposing opinions,” she stated. “In the climate of recent events in schools we walk a delicate balance in teaching non-violence in our buildings and trying to ensure a safe, peaceful atmosphere.”

This is an educator of children, who does not understand the difference between a Republic and a Democracy. This is the root of the problem, folks.

This is part of the progressive plan to make the next generation of voters (our children) terrified of guns. Indoctrinate them now and by the time they are 18 they will vote for anyone who to save them them those scary evil guns. Expose your kids to guns, take them shooting, take your neighbors kid shooting if you can. Show them there is nothing wrong with firearms.

This. Also, take your left leaning friends out shooting. My old roommate Jeff was kind of a hippy and scared of guns. I took him shooting one day and within the next few months he purchased a SA85 complete with drum and multiple magazines, a P90 and an 870. Also, my wife is Canadian and needless to day was indoctrinated in Canadian public schools of the "evils" of ALL firearms. She now has her own Colt 6920 after showing her the joys of our 2nd ammendment and what it really means.
