Actually, many hi-cap mags, particularly extremely hi-cap drum mags, are unreliable and best used as nothing more than a range toy. From what I heard, MANY LIVES WERE SAVED because the Aurora shooter chose to utilize a novelty drum mag that jammed his AR . . . and, not being a responsible firearm enthusiast, he had no idea how to clear that jam so the rifle became useless.
