It's insane thinking that I won't be able to replace a rifle as innocuous as a Marlin Model 60.

    Hypothetical question.

A friend comes to visit from Louisiana (the Free US), his CCWP is recognized in CO, but he decides to bring his Glock 17, purchased after the date... Is he in violation?

Similarly, say another friend has decided that he likes my location. He is a prepper, and he has decided to stage some equipment at my home. If that equipment includes magazines, what are the legal implications of the situation, since I am in possession of his magazines, but he comes to visit several times a year and they are technically his. Or he chooses to leave a CCW here in my care so he can fly without checking a gun.. Hypothetically speaking of course...

I just wrote every single senator. Let them know I supported their stance (republicans and the 2 dems that voted no) or that they need to change their mind and these laws do nothing. Hopefully something gets through to one of them.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

The crazy thing is, even NEW YORK does not require mandatory background checks for private transfers of long arms. This new Colorado law is unique.

CA does for every firearm with exception to black powder rifles.

Situation 1: It will only become a problem if has to use his CCW to defend himself. Otherwise, its CONCEALED carry and no one should know. Even then, if he prints and the police are called, I doubt they demand to see how many rounds are in his pistol. Then again, while travelling with a CCL in another state, I believe you abide by THEIR LAWS. There was the loophole of getting a Florida CCL and living in other states, you had to abide by that state you were in, regardless of where your CCL was issued.

Situation 2: Maybe this is like NFA stuff, have him get a lock box and use a code that only he knows. Or have a key, but then he'd have to bring it and in a SHTF scenario, a coded lock box would be much more desirable than a keyed box.

Just my .02, take it or leave it.
