I met a guy a few weeks ago who claimed he was a scout sniper so I started in with the questions. Couldn't tell me his MOS or where he was stationed, claimed he had a 2 year contract, so I go "Did you train in San Fran?" Just to mess with him, his response, "Duh, all scount snipers train and are stationed in San Fran". I tore his ass apart so bad he bailed and left his GF behind at the party

..Can we make this a joint branch venture...I want in on some of this.

I bet he'll tell me all about his time in the 31st Marine Expeditionary US Army Ranger Navy Seal TACP unit....

These idiots need to be called out more often, the fact that they think they can get away with pretending to be in the military with "multiple tours overseas" blows my mind. They all deserve a brick to the face in my opinion. I served in the Australian military so I don't have the same experience some of you do but it still pisses me off that these people think its cool to play pretend soldier for the credit

I've called people out on it in public....

Had a a guy come through my work in ACU's, Rank upside down, Patrol cap had no ranks on it, name tapes backwards, longer hair than AR 670-1 would allow rocking a 10th Mtn on his right side and 4ID on his left....I was working with a customer but asked them to give me a minute, went up to him, asked to see an ID...he was confused, so I reiterated myself, "A CAC Card...Common Access Card, Military ID.."

Keep in mind this guy came in with 2 other people who looked somewhat unsavory...

The guy's friend says to me " What? are you navy!" with some flavor of attitude...

And in front of my boss I replied, " No mother fucker I'm a retired Staff Sergeant"

...Nothing really escalated from this, I decided my customer had already waited long enough and that I would get back to my job..

I never saw an ID...but I overheard the guys friend saying his GF fucked up his uniform....likely story.

My Coworker who was helping this guy told me later that he looked like he was about to cry after I busted into him for being all fucked up...

My boss then pulled me aside after I got done and was free...said to me, "I'm glad you said something, cause had you not, I would've"

...my boss is Retired USAF, and my other Coworker Retired USMC...
