Default Pueblo Chieftain calls out Giron and Morse accused of threatening

Published on March 11 2013 by ColoradoPeakPolitics

Last week, The Chieftain’s general manager did send an email to state Sen. Angela Giron, a Pueblo Democrat, in which he expressed his opposition to the gun-control bills being considered by the state Legislature.

As a way of identification, as he still is fairly new to the area, Ray Stafford told Senator Giron that he is the general manager of The Chieftain and in charge of its operation, including the newsroom.

At no time did he suggest that he would use his position to slant the newspaper’s coverage. In fact, a careful review of The Chieftain’s coverage of these volatile issues reveals a very deliberate effort to provide balanced coverage.”
It is unfortunate that Sen. President John Morse told MSNBC that the general manager of the newspaper in her district had threatened Senator Giron with unfavorable news coverage unless she voted against the bills.

No such thing happened. Mr. Stafford was exercising his constitutional right as a citizen to contact his elected representative. Nothing more. We invite Sen. Morse to read our coverage himself.

    Link does not work.

    Try HTTP instead of HTTPS

and give a complete address, so people can cut and paste, if they need to.

I think maybe this is what you wanted ?

The vBulletin Forum S/W automatically tries to "out think" you, and wants to convert anything starting with html:// into a hyperlink

To get it to print on the page I tried several things

    1) added a space after http: - can't cut and paste the complete address, though (didn't like that)

    2) Encapsulated the link text with the BB codes [html] and [/html] and got it to print in a "HTML CODE BOX" like this (didn't like that either)
    [html]http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/2013/03/11/giron-declares-war-on-the-chieftain-phony-allegations-of-threats-against-gun-control-supporters-now-extends-to-largest-newspaper-in-southern-colorado/[/html]

    3) Finally I just used the [noparse] BB Code tags like this
    [noparse]http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/2013/03/11/giron-declares-war-on-the-chieftain-phony-allegations-of-threats-against-gun-control-supporters-now-extends-to-largest-newspaper-in-southern-colorado/[/noparse]

    I liked #3 the best.

This all sounds like the Reichstag fire: liberals threaten themselves, and agitate, then blame it on others. Compare Rep. Fields threats, and Scott Gessler.

Then they use th threats to pass more laws, and use police power to target their opponents.

Worse than that they are not just pushing and exaggerating the natural opposition.

In my opinion they are fabricating their own threats and then using those to gain more power. They threaten the Sheriffs, then claim that the Sheriffs are threatening them.

Look at historically the methods tyrants used against their opponents, sometimes their own supporters created chaos that was then blamed on their opponents.

This is what they remind me of:

Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.
