The lack of understanding that my boss (and the 5 other managers that I have a dotted line to) has about what exactly I do every day and just how much time and pain I save them. They also have no clue what goes into developing new reports and processes so their time lines are always "optimistic".

I'm not falling into this trap... I've already caught enough hell in the past- and I'm pretty sure most on here know the only real thing I dislike about my job...

Actually, there is one complaint about my job, and it's legitimate... People who think that market value and replacement cost of their home are the same. We insure you for $400,000 and you call and say "But the market value is only $280,000! Insure me for less so I can pay less." No dumbnuts, your insurance company doesn't care how much you can sell your house for, they care how much it will take to rebuild your house in the event of a total loss. Insurance 101 should be a class your senior year of HS... I think.

OFF TOPIC: When I went to the ER a few weeks ago after a fall I declined Percocet and Vicodin numerous times. The nurse was like, "Seriously? You DON'T want pain killers?" about 20 times.

Off topic again: When my wife was in the ICU with meningitis, when she came out of the coma, she told them to take her off the morphine. Same response, even got asked if she's a recovering addict or something.

On topic: In a global corp, getting good engineers jobs shipped overseas to people who only read from scripts and don't have the competence to figure out problems on their own.

I work in evil corporate America - ethics. There is none with my new employer (they bought my old employer). ANYTHING to make a buck.

We have online ethics training, so I know my company is ethical.
