Default Two questions on the gun control package.

I keep hearing people say SB-196 AWB and HB-1226 CCW on college campus are dead but is there any proof of that? From what i know they were postponed till May 10th and i still see them as a threat.

Did any part of HB-1224, the mag ban, say we can not repair our magazines or get a "magazine repair kit"?

The current legislative session ends on May 8th, so yes they are dead.

The bill does not specifically state anything about repairing magazines.

To give you some clarity- SB-196 is NOT an AWB... Reading comprehension is just garbage these days... I blame Obama. SB-196 was an "Assault Weapons Liability" bill, and along with HB-1226 they both failed to pass the Senate, they will not be brought back up in this year's session. I'm sure they'll try some more BS next year though, so we must remain vigilant!

196 and 1226 were killed on a procedural vote to lay over. 1224 is a badly worded bill. Yes, you can repair your mag housings you just can transfer them. However, there is no way to enforce any of it. Secondly, the bill used a simple wording to govern the sale of new magazines to state that an ammunition feeding device can't be readily convertible of more then 15 rounds. Well, any magazine with a removable floor plate falls in this category.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Thank you for clarifying, i did not know that killed the bill. Yes Ronin in essence it was a ban. Do you really think any manufacture, distributor or retailer in their right mind would have sold any firearm that fell under the text of that law in Colorado? General comprehension is garbage these days too... Dam you Obama. But your right they already vowed they will continue this BS. How did 1226 even make it as far as it did when it went against a Colorado Supreme Court ruling?

So if you can repair them the date stamps mean nothing, that's good news. If you really wanted to push it i guess you could repair an old magazine so it would work with a new firearm by systematically replacing and "trashing" parts.

yes and no. SB196 was part one of an AWB, define Assault Weapon in law. You are correct in that it didn't ban anything though.

196 was a liability bill. If this would have passed, we would have eventually been required to carry liability insurance on so-called assault weapons.

Depending on the cost of liability insurance, this may prevent people from keeping them. It is a creative way to regulate people out of their firearms.
