it was recommended to me and I'll pass it along, try to get 20, 30rnd magazines. 15 here is a good start. You can try to get more than that, but 20 gets you in the game for quite awhile.

Agreed. If all you ever intend to use it for is plinking, 5 would do you fine. In a SHTF scenario, you're not going to have time to reload each mag by hand, and it might be nice to have several in a pack.
+1. It's not hurting them - they're going to get a nice surge in business to help them with the move. I'm glad they tried to help us out. Besides, the site already has limits in the checkout process for how many you can order - you can't order more than your fair share, to the best of my knowledge.
The only disagreement I'd have to buying 7.62x51 mags is if you have a delivery platform of another flavor. M1A, for example.
...but buy as many quality standard capacity AR mags that you think you'll need + the ones you didn't think you would need but do.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.

I'm with everybody else, with HB1224 passing the house again today, I'd buy whatever you can get your hands on that you can afford. I've got my 15 coming in from Magpul (you'll be dearly missed) and will be on the look out for decent deals in the upcoming weeks. I'll have maybe 30+ by the time July rolls around. Just my $0.02.

As many of every type you can afford and lay your hands on.
