Do not treat people as if they're all criminals -- prior restraint has no place in a free society.

If you limited the Denver Post to only buying 15 ounce bottles of ink, wouldn't you consider THAT a first amendment infringement?

    Please veto HB1224.

Same here, I also got an error on 1228 but I sent on the rest. Hopefully they won't filter out the majority of people who don't want these bills.

Email I sent to the Governor

    Subject Line: Please VETO HB1224, HB1228, HB1229

    Dear Governor:

Please, please veto the following anti-Colorado bills dealing with restricting the People's rights regarding firearms; It is important that you stand with the people of Colorado and not with the puppet masters in DC.

My family and respectfully ask you to veto these bills:

HB 1224: bans all magazines with capacities of more than 15 rounds.

HB 1228: establishes a tax on gun purchases

HB 1229: universal background checks and bans individual private sales and transfers.

None of these bills will reduce crime and will in fact potentially create criminals of the law abiding Colorado citizens because of the poorly written and easily misinterpreted language in these bills. Again, my family and I ask that you veto these bills and protect our rights as citizens of Colorado.

    Sincerely yours,

    Wayne, Susan and Sheelagh Murphy

Don't forget to tell your friends people! Gotta get the world out and also post on Facebook! Especially the governor's page with the link so that people know that he won't count Facebook posts!

I just called Gov. Hickenlooper's office, 303-866-2471, and told them "I'd like to voice my opposition to HB 1224, HB 1228, and HB 1229, and urge the governor not to sign these bills". I also offered to leave my name and city, which they took down. Really short, sweet, and simple.

I just kept dialing over and over because the line was busy. Took about 1 minute to get through and had to wait less than 5 minutes.

    Pretty painless.

    LET'S DO THIS, GENTELMEN!!

Done. Reminded him to not trust his 'cronies' that are promising him bigger/better jobs as payoff to stomping all over us here in CO, and the Constitution! These people just don't learn from history: look how many 'cronies' were taken out by the leaders of previous nations that followed the same ideologies!! Selling one's soul for a future 'payoff' never ends well...

I realize that, thanks for the pointing it out, I was mixing concerns with bills. I didn't make duplicate posts for all the others bills. In principle, I am against them all, although the ending of the online portion of CCW classes really doesn't bother me. Sorry for any confusion.
