My guess is the closer we get to the July 1 effective date of the law that $50 price will look more and more attractive to some folks.

Yeah. You and BG are both right. Poor analogy.

I put people taking advantage of a welfare program and people taking advantage of this Magpul program into the same category in my mind. The type that can't turn down something that they can get even though they know it was never intended for them.

That is why I compared the two.

All I can say is my sons/grandchildren each own a shit-ton of 30 and 20 round mags. If your brother had ANY consideration for future generations, those mags would quickly become the possessions of a younger generation.

    ^^THIS^^

And since my brothers are college-broke and can't order any, I'm splitting my stash up amongst us.

Well I convinced him, since he just got his first AR a couple weeks ago, to hold on to his mags... As I'm doing. Now if I sold anything, they'd be "slightly used" and for less than what Magpul has listed as MSRP, commensurate to their depreciated value.

While I doubt you will be able to sell them in co in the future, I'm going to quote this in the slim chance you do.

Slight correction, unless Magpul has changed their program.
I thought it was just offered to anyone in Colorado.

I'm not supporting this, but it would seem that since Coloradoans can get them at MSRP, they could make a profit selling outside of Colorado, say on GB or Ebay.
But as far as inside Colorado, you are correct. Any Coloradoan can get a limited supply at MSRP.

I think Magpul is doing an awfully nice thing for Colorado.
It would only take one "bad" example to ruin it for everyone that wants to play fair and honor their good intentions.
I believe the intent was :
    1) Let Coloradoans get PMAGs and
    2) Sort of give state legislature the "bird" on their way out of Colorado
