It's the bad guy's fault the dog died? He isn't the one who sent the dog in first, like a canary into a mine shaft. I'd say the handler shares at least equal blame. What the hell did they think was going to happen? That the guy would just give him a biscuit and scratch his ears?

He shot the dog did he not? Definitely his fault.

Let's say you're one of the cops on scene. The rest of the team takes your gun from you, straps a camera to your head, and says, "He's only got two shots, Joe. You go in first and soak those up so the rest of us can come charging in behind your corpse." Now whose fault is it?

My only point is they used him as a shield and he's not smart enough to protest because he's a freaking dog. That just seems a little foul in my book.

This blows my mind. And why the hell is his rear BUIS up? I guess he thought his optic was malfunctioning and had to revert to irons. It feels terrible when I see a "professional" like this who obviously doesn't know the first thing about his primary offensive weapon.

ETA: Also I just noticed cowboy on the 870 has his left hand supporting the stock like he's shooting some machine gun. If he actually had to fire the shotgun his hand wouldn't be on the pump and it would take him like an extra 1-2 seconds to get a second shot off. Plus recoil/aiming wouldn't be as controlled as if he had a proper grip on the shotgun. Ridiculous.

It's a photo, a fraction piece of time. For all you know this position was maintained for a mere second but was captured in this one fraction.

Seriously, between nynco wanting to cry over the dog and this, you all need to put your crackerjack badges down and slowly back away.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
