One of the Republican Senators demonstrated exactly how that 10-round pmag is illegal under the new law. It can be readily converted to hold more that 15 rounds with an extender.

All of your mags, for all your semi-auto firearms, are illegal, fellas. You can't transfer any of them, so when you die your guns which use mags become paperweights. This is a defacto gun ban, within one generation.

We can't even have friends or family shoot our firearms because we would be losing possession of said magazine. Totally retarded.

Everybody needs to just treat all mags under 15 rounds as legal and stop acting like they "could" be illegal. If everyone treats all mags as illegal then that becomes the norm. If everyone with 15 and less rounds treats them as legal then that becomes the norm. When we throw in the towel and say all my mags are illegal they win. I say hold them to the intent of the law that 15 or less is legal unless you have converted it to hold more. That's like saying my AR15 is illegal because I have a machine shop and it could be converted to full auto.

    THIS!
I keep seeing all this doom and gloom talk of "ANY magazine can be converted, no matter what..." No, not really. But thanks for playing. I'm pretty sure if it is more than 15 rounds then that's what will be gone from the shelves, nothing more.

And , just exactly where are supposed to get these 15 round magazi es for an AR or AK ?
This "hi cap mag ban" is basically a de facto 10 round limit. I have yet to see any manufacturer offering a 15 round magazine.
So after this becomes law, any AR or AK purchased will have a 10 round magazine come with it. Anyone that buys a new rifle when this is law is S.O.L. Unless they stocked up on 20 and 30 round mags before they even own a firearm to use them in.

I picked up a few .308 pmags even though I don't own an AR-10 just in case I get one down the road.

Pretending it doesn't apply to magazines smaller than 15-rounds doesn't necessarily make it so. Interpret the law as you please I guess. This is what it says:

    10 (2) (a) "LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE MEANS:
11 (I) A FIXED OR DETACHABLE MAGAZINE, BOX, DRUM, FEED STRIP,
12 OR SIMILAR DEVICE CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING, OR THAT IS DESIGNED TO BE
13 READILY CONVERTED TO ACCEPT, MORE THAN FIFTEEN ROUNDS OF
    14 AMMUNITION;

    ......

    13 18-12-302. Large-capacity magazines prohibited - penalties -
14 exceptions. (1) (a) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, ON
15 AND AFTER JULY 1,2013, A PERSON WHO SELLS, TRANSFERS, OR POSSESSES
    16 A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE COMMITS A CLASS 2 MISDEMEANOR.

I hope that everyone here will continue to fight this BS bill, however just in case, I have also stocked up on some mags of the guns that I want to have eventually, if anyone says that I didn't have it before the ban, the burden of proof rests on them and they can eat a bag of d*cks.

Actually... with the wishy washy, slippery slope language, you can argue both sides:
"CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING, OR THAT IS DESIGNED TO BE
    13 READILY CONVERTED TO ACCEPT"
I see that as any magazine that readily, by manufacturer, accepts 15 rounds (IE: Your standard Glock 22 .40S&W Magazine that comes standard holding 15 rounds STOCK)... it wasn't "designed" to be "converted" to accept any more, but that option is available via an extender. It was "designed" to hold 15 rounds, no more... if it had been designed to be converted, they wouldn't have put the small holes in the back of the magazine that show the round count. JMHO...
