    I know shit happens mate.

But our government reward being irresponsible. Women with kids who don't have a husband and people who just got out of prison get breaks on tuition and sometimes even get it totally free.

What I'm saying is why should I vote for people that support racism/affirmative action and even those that reward bad policy with MY money?

Trust me I'm not being selfish by the time these problems would ever be fixed I'll be long gone out of college. I just don't want other good kids that have done nothing wrong in life to experience bad behavior being rewarded and racism being applied. What's the motivation to be a good guy when you see irresponsible people being rewarded left and right? And you're paying for those rewards?

Your saying we have to do what we can to change it how is voting for those that helped create this crappy welfare state going to get rid of those issues for our future generations?

As to medical bills to some extent it is the governments fault. Illegal immigrants and other people get free medical care and pass those costs on to bill paying americans like you and me. So yes portions of it are our governments fault.

If your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. If you're looking to blame "the government" for just about anything, you can probably twist around some kind of reason. "The government" is us. People somewhere put those people in office.

Sometimes you are voting for the "lesser of 2 evils". How is ensuring an Obama/Biden Presidency going to help you? You think the nanny state is doing too much now, where do you think that will get you?

    Well thats true.

Do you think if obama really screws up our country it might wake up americans to not make the same mistakes again?

And will we settle for the lesser of 2 evils for the rest of our lives? When will we start going for the real right thing to do? Because I doubt any of us will be happy with the lesser of two evils for ever. When do we get rid of both evils?

No. When over half the population is getting something from "the government", try and find a majority to reverse that.

Seeing as "we" don't get to play God and determine what's right for everyone, that's difficult to say. There may come a time when the decision may be outside of our current political system. Will it be in my lifetime? Maybe, maybe not.

Always trying to leave out the real facts... sure $200 and a permit sounds great, leaving out the artificial prices set by our freindly liberals does not. Although you left that out
I'm quite certain on this board no one forgets that.

I'm not anti-government, they have there uses, I'm anti republican and democrap party. I'm a true conservative not a neo-con. It's nice to see you guys try to eat your own, true colors here. Show's your closer to the liberal democrats than you are to a conservative libretarian. Just re-inforces my statements that you're liberals
What an asinine statement. Dan rather said once he was a conservative. His reasoning was that most of the people he knew and worked with were so far to his left, that he must be conservative.
You are so far to the right that you have encroached on right wing wacko status.

"conservatives of our era..." LOL nice one, i dont think the definition of the word conservative has changed

Trust me I wont do anything stupid nor would I ever, I'm just gonna laugh my ass off at all you guys when your Neo-Cons take your right to protect yourselves away. The life I have is way to cushy and fat for me to give that up
I'll just keep on "leaching" by going to work every day and stimulating the economy.

But than again if one of you can find me a legal full auto rifle for $200 and a permit I'll gladly vote republican and take back all my statements.
You have just graduated to troll status. You are nothing but an ignorant child, without a clue to the real world. Which would be fine if you kept it to yourself, but you don't. You come to this forum with people with far more real life experience then you have. People who actually research and can back up their statements. And post your nonsense. You are given a real life example of how voting republican is better then throwing your vote away with the D.C. outcome. An outcome that will likely be the turning point in other gun issues in our favor.

The sooner you learn that in real life you have to make concessions, and vote the lessor of two evils, to keep things close to how you want them the better off you'll be.

Oh get yourself the firefox browser, and in tools activate the spell checker function. It will underline in red misspelled words. In the internet world it doesn't matter if you cared enough to actually learn to spell correctly, it matters that the outcome is proper spelling so your words will taken seriously.
If you don't care enough to post correctly, no one will care to take your point of view seriously.

Well if I'm a right wing wacko than I'm proud to be one! I seem to have some good company like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin to name a few. If you think I'm wacko for believing what they believed than shame on you.

And I have given real life examples as to how voting in a 2 party system has failed us.

Your beating a dead bush at this point, I agree that Obama is not an option, but you seriously can't be happy with what the GOP has done and I'm damned sure no true conservative is going be happy with McCain's reign of progressivism.

Eight pages of posts, and few are on the original topic. So, out of respect for the original poster, please get back on, and stay on topic.

It will be interesting to see how the RNC works out. The Dems will want to make political hay out of Gustav. Even if the Reps just point out the facts how well everyone worked together with 5 Rep Govs and the Whitehouse, the Dems will cry "Foul!" It is nice to see the dichotomy of the DNC spending all of their money and time glorifying themselves compared to the RNC and concern for the citizenry in harms way.

    Kudos to Bobby Jindal.
