    Default Finally hit my goal

Me and my brother have been going to the gym for sometime now and when my season ended at work I made a goal for my bench press. Tonight was the night I broke the 400 lb mark free weight flat bench press mark, 405 to be exact. I should also mention that my brother (2 years younger) also benched 405, we make a pretty good team pushing each other and I would have never got there with out him. Not too bad for a 37 year old 221 lb asphalt guy. Any way just got me excited and I thought I'd post it here.

Yeah man, I'm trying to break a 200 lb benchpress right now (not half as impressive) Was there a specific routine you did?

Eat good regularly(5 med sized meals a day), lift on a regular schedule 4 days a week at least, find a good partner that will push you and that will spot you, an injury will wipe out months of hard work. I like to change my exercises so I'm not doing the same routine over and over and when you hit a plateau take a week off let your muscles rest. I also try to use free weights as much as possible and stay off of the machines if I can.

Congrats man. I wish I can stay motivated like you. Maybe it's cause I lift alone. I get less lazy going gym with people.

Dude, I lifted 5K yesterday multiple times. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

It was on a lift though. Still exhausting to watch it go up and down.

    Congrats on the lifting!

That's awesome man, bet that feels good. I've never topped 340 myself. I'd love to hit 4 bills.

I hit 455 at 33, and then I tore my shoulder up. Sadly can only go to 365 these days at age 45. However bench wise I surprassed my Army and college football days in my 30s. Congrads , that feat of 400 plus is only done by 2 percent of men as so I have been told
