    Default LAW-yer, LOY-yer, other?

I'm sure for many of us... it depends on where we were born and raised. I say it one way. My wife says it another. How do you guys pronounce lawyer?

    Attorney, usually.

Or, when in casual company, LOY-yer.

In Britain, they call them solicitors. Which is funny, because here in the colonies, solicitation is a criminal offense with implications of prostitution. :-)

LAW-yer. You know, because they (allegedly) practice LAW and not LOY. Californians used to make fun of me for pronouncing it correctly. I was born and raised near Galveston though, so half the shit I say is pronounced weird and usually has a couple extra Rs thrown in for good measure.
