While I think it would be GREAT... can 470,000 [legit] signatures be gathered in just under 2 months? That sounds like a monumental task.

We could only get barely 1,000 people to show up to the capital for a rally with 2 weeks notice.

I think so, people will sign a petition that won't even bother to go to the voting booth, let alone get off their tails and go to the capital in protest. The big issue is that every person that has the gumption to get off their ass will have to get a copy and go door to door, and get as many physical signatures as possible when the official one comes out.
