OK-if you are the dumbass who sold this guy the gun, after the shoot out and attending news, don't you think you might make yourself scarce around Colorado.

Stuff like this really scares the crap out of me when selling used guns, did she really go into a gun store and make a straw purchase intended directly to go to him, or was she just some lady who sold a used gun on armslist or the like?

Really a quick glance of a drivers license is all most of us do, and 99% of the time it's ok. I just know that in high profile crimes such as this they want someone to be the face of the crime and will pin any blame they could on anyone they can find.

If this lady did make an intentional straw purchase for the guy then yes I hope she goes down hard, however if she just sold the gun on armslist of something similar I really feel sorry for her.

Exactly. Which is precisely why you and I and other law-abiding citizens should be forced to endure more infringements on our 2A rights. Makes perfect sense to me.

If you and I have to jump through more hoops to purchase a gun guys like him won't be able to kill as easily. Liberal Logic 101.

if being possession of a firearm by a felon were illegal, this wouldnt have happened. if murder was illegal this wouldnt have happened.

Based on the article, she purchased the firearm from a dealer with the intention of transferring possession to the shooter.

Either that or my reading comprehension is fawked today.

Here is what the article said:

Oftentimes referred to as a ‘straw purchase' investigators believe Vigil purchased the firearm from a licensed firearms dealer in Englewood, and allegedly transferred the weapon to Evan Ebel, a convicted felon who could not legally possess a firearm. The licensed firearms dealer has been extremely cooperative with investigators, and had no knowledge of Vigil's alleged actions following her legal purchase of the gun.
That isn't clear to me what her intentions were.

Let's say this afternoon I stopped by Gander Mtn. saw a new AR-15 on the shelf for $900.00 I thought to my self wow that's a great deal and I bought it. Excited I went straight to the range and fired a few mags through it. I now figured out why it was a $900 AR and why it was available at this time, it was a POS, and I didn't like it. Besides that when I got home my wife chewed my ass for spending money on it. That night I list it on armslist. Evan Ebel contacts me, on the phone he seems like a nice guy, I agree to meet up with him. We meet in a parking lot somewhere, I take a quick peek at his license, ask if he's a felon which he responds no to and I sell him the gun. Technically I have followed the law and should be good to go.

However they could write this same story about me the following week when he kills a high profile state official.

Oftentimes referred to as a ‘straw purchase' investigators believe RCCrawler purchased the firearm from a licensed firearms dealer in Thornton, and allegedly transferred the weapon to Evan Ebel, a convicted felon who could not legally possess a firearm. The licensed firearms dealer has been extremely cooperative with investigators, and had no knowledge of RCCrawler's alleged actions following his legal purchase of the gun.
Now it's on me to prove why I sold a gun the day after I purchased it to a convicted felon.

Again I am not saying this lady is innocent, I'm just saying it scares the crap out of me when selling used guns and stuff like this happens.

By stating it is was straw purchase implies that she purchased the weapon with the intent of transferring it to him and she knew he was a prohibited person.

Also you don't have to prove anything, you are innocent until proven guilty.

Not anymore, "they believe" she straw purchased the weapon. How long till one of us is in trouble for this. How about the gun "flippers" on armslist(and here). If she did it on purpose ok, but innocent until proven guilty

You can be arrested for anything anytime, what they can prove and convicted you of is another story.
