Default Why is the State of CO

Doubt if this is a repost and if it is - tough shi-!
I am wondering why the State of Colorado insists on using the CBI for BGC's when other States are using the FBI for their checks. Why are we paying a staff on the CBI to do this when that money could be better utilized elsewhere? If the FBI cannot be trusted to do the job right, get rid of em!

It has been discussed before here, Bob, but the main reason was a case out of Castle Rock in which the NICS missed a restraining order and the restrained party bought a gun and killed his children with it and then was killed in a gunfight with Castle Rock police. His widow sued EVERYBODY over that.

Same reason all governments do. Create more state/federal jobs, impose more bureaucracy, and levee more taxes on the citizens that actually work for a living.

Oh yeah, and pass more feel good fix nothing laws. Prozac politics at its finest.

Also, I believe the CBI check includes some mental health records.

With the HIPAA laws in place? I'm not sure but I'd be shocked if this were true.

The only Mental Health stuff that would be included would be where a court decided you were mentally unfit to make your own decisions... nothing from a medical or behavioral health providers office.

It was the same event that lead to the USSC decision that the police have no responsibility to protect you.

During the bill testimony I seem to recall them tossing out a number of 1000... (or was it 100.. I think 1000 and I turned that to 100 figuring that 90% were false positives and they used the high number to make them selves look good...) denials that they caught that the FBI would have let slip thru . I'm not sure if that was last year or over the last couple years.
